DESCRIPTION
It is my first time seeing the full splendor of the fall foliage in eastern Canada. Growing up a West Coast child, my forest is dark and tall – through all seasons. My mountains are high and close. Reflections in the sea are broken with tide and wind.
This new experience of golden trees, red glowing foliage and mirror like waters is so different. Rounded hills covered with plump cushions of color with waving feathers of White Pine standing out, isolated in a riot of yellow and orange.
As an artist I view the world in shapes, value and color. After days of driving, old city , villages and architecture, this small painting was the first opportunity I had to stop and work from nature. With the history and motifs of the group of 7 ringing in my mind, I gave in to the joy of bright waters and golden grass & trees.
