Part of the planning for this journey was my everlasting admiration for the Canadian group of seven. Many of their iconic works were created within the boundaries
Algonquin park and local areas. Oxtongue lake and river was also near to family to wind up our journey with relaxed visits at a lakeside cottage.
Walking the park trails and wandering the forest near this river, so many of Tom Thompsons paintings were brought to mind. A tangle of dark branches, marsh grasses and bright waters. I did not have as much time to paint (not on my own) but took hundreds of photos to serve as future inspiration.
