after a couple of days staying with my Potter/Painter friend GALE WOODHOUSE we are settled into MACKIE HOUSE.
Sunday 10th – I attended the OPUS Plein Air Challenge in KELOWNA and what a wonderful sunny day. SO many folks walking, paddling, cycling and rolling along the waterfront park. There was about 45 painters spread around the downtown/waterfront core, including my buddy Ann Willsie. I chose a painting spot in the natural marsh area – with a parade of creatures; Osprey nesting, turtles, geese & goslings, ducks and many many ducklings (sorry so cute photos – I forgot my camera)
Pleasantly interrupted by phone calls from both my lovely children – what a great was to spend a Mother’s Day ;-)
all the artists were working on a 9×12 format and the finished paintings were handily displayed hanging on grid panels in the open square near the Kelowna Art gallery. After a very long day (Brian was out cycling) we headed off early – so I don’t know who/what the final juried winners look like.
I will check the Opus website – as the staff were diligently photographing ALL the paintings, from the kids and students work as well.
