The sun breaks through and brings out all the path walkers, joggers, pets, kids, pals etc in West Van. I always look for characters along the way that enrich my experience of working on site. This was such a great overview of the action along the waterfront trail at Ambleside West Vancouver – with a break in the heavy clouds.
“New Tree – Pink Bandana” 14 x 18 inches acrylic on board. Plein Air at the Music Box.
Photos of my site aspect on the deck of the Music Box overlooking the First Narrows – Lions Gate Bridge and the forshore of Ambleside area of West Vancouver. Prime real estate for painters ;-)
The left photo is the preliminary burnt sienna brush-line work which captures most of the elements. The center pic is a very loose Paynes grey to capture the elusive light/shadows of the moment.
The right is the beginning of the base color work and underpainting – trying to maintain the character of the initial line art.
I got a little further on site – and fine tuned the details back in the studio.
Definitely available – and yes the paint is dry. That’s why I love acrylic.
