Day2_Hudson & plein air

Spent a lovely morning with Mum & Dad along the lakeshore trail (newly renovated “Jack Layton” park) and the village center in Hudson. Great old buildings and quaint cottages, gracious waterfront estates and traditional farms along the scenic drive through Hudson & Como.

Completely different forest floor than in the coastal woodlands. Reeds, tender ferns and layers of pines needles. Some tiny native asters were blooming and these very small fungi.

One of the colorful buildings that I painted the last time I was in Hudson 2 years ago – now with the addition of the autumn leaves. Still inspiring!
Visited the quiet site of Finnegans market (Saturday antique, craft and flea market) and enjoyed a lovely afternoon painting with Caroline  – a bit of a teaching and a great spot to paint in the sunshine.
