It as always a bit of a crap shoot choosing accommodation off the internet. And not knowing the area it was a little risky deciding. I picked it mostly for the location – between the Muskoka lake district – woodland fall colors…and the lakeshore – dramatic rock shorelines and those iconic pine trees.
After receiving a generous upgrade to a waterfront room upon my arrival – it has only gotten better. As the pics will show – a great traditional cottage country resort, with lots of character and history. They even have their own “greeter” resident retriever called Southern. And he dressed to match the fall decor. Nicely done.
Great food, staff, trails, pool, canoes etc… and it is so quiet the crickets are complaining.
Severn Lodge, only a few hours north of Toronto,Ontario.
