Artist Call to participate in a paint out
in historic Gibsons Landing.
September 9 / 10 / 11
meet at the VIC
11:00 am / 2:00 pm / 4:00pm
Meet at the Visitors Info Center
(directly accross from Molly’s Reach) and enjoy the local scene. Sketch or paint this colorful working wharf with fishing boats and dramatic island and mountain views. Great access to the whole waterfront along the public paths and docks, and plenty of great spots to set up.

BC Ferries schedule
I have booked the use of the classroom at the Gibsons Public Art Gallery (287 Gower Point Rd) as a meeting place – with coffee/tea, water, washrooms and work area for inside painting.
The weather looks like it will be decent and there are also public washrooms & water at the VIC center, and plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby for breaks.
I will be on site at the VIC corner to meet new painters and late arrivals at 11:00 am / 2:00 pm / 4:00pm. You can use this as a gathering schedule if we end up spread out throughout the day. Nice to go for coffee together! We could also organize a car pool for walk-on ferry riders.
This will be part of the International Plein Air Painters annual paint out. See the link below. All over the world artists and groups will be gathering – and send pics of their group/work to their facebook site. Last year we had one of the Sketchcrawl drawing marathons in the landing – check out their great site.
I hope to create a major Paint Out event for Gibsons Landing for Sept 2012 – with workshops, exhibition and public activities utilizing the Arts Building as home base. The event would promote and partner with local accommodation, tours and services .
