Day EIGHT

love old architecture. Today was a study in rustic town frontage and cottages in Los Rios neighborhood and the the afternoon in the shade inside the walls at the Mission San Juan Capistrano.

Yes same place of Swallows fame. So many palm trees and beaches. This will be a different creative zone.

And there will be some others painters joining me on site: Bob , Joe, David, Gill and Donna.

Another GREAT location. and if you wanted – you can take the metro train right to this station !

an old timer who lives in a workers cottage “little Hollywood” just a few hundred feet away. He comes out to enjoy the sunshine and company at the train crossing. He has been there 61 years. and seen SO many changes. From isolated farmland to urban sprawl.
Great to chat with him and have him as part of a future composition.

I completed x3 preliminary watercolor  value studies on location at Los Rios. Washes and color to come later :-)
better for my creative flow to get down the details on the spot – for 3 paintings….than to finish just one.
8×10 on 300 lb cold press paper. Prussian Blue Hue washes…
