OPUS workshop on BOWEN ISLAND June 4/5 Step Up & Out with Acrylic
Had a great sunny weekend of teaching, painting, flowers, chocolate and exploring Bowen.
9 painters enjoyed painting the spectacular site at the “farm” hosted by Opus owner David & Aubin Van Berkel.
After meeting at the central tent for discussion and back for lunch the artists explored the hillside of roses, vineyard and orchards, even down to the shady pond. It was a lovely weekend.
Student painting / afternoon demo in the shade Sunday.
I headed out very early on Sat morning (5:30am – yes it is light ;-) to find an old truck that I had seen on my previous visit.
Oh I found the truck alright – but after painting (in the company of a very friendly deer) for a couple of hours I jumped in my own truck to get back for breakfast and there was the empty/gas light flashing at me. No idea how far I can get – and can’t take any chances not getting to the workshop on time…cause I am the teacher.
I found the gas “station” but had to wait till 9 am – so not one to waste time lounging, I did the rest of the painting off the end of the tailgate.
Tailgate painting while waiting for Gas. 8am. Bowen Island.
